How Legacy Assured Works

A simple, secure way to record everything your family will need to know

Legacy Assured helps you create a clear, encrypted record of your financial relationships and personal wishes, so your family does not have to guess what exists or where to look. You do not need to be tech-savvy, and there is no charge to get started.

1. Create your secure account

You begin by registering your basic details - your name, email and date of birth. Once you verify your email, your Legacy Assured account is created and protected with multifactor authentication (MFA) and recovery options.

From the start, your information is encrypted in transit and at rest, so it stays private. You can adjust your privacy settings at any time, and your account will never be accessed by your family or anyone else until your death is confirmed.

2. Add your next of kin

You choose the people you trust to access your Legacy Assured record after your death. This is usually immediate family, executors, or close friends. You enter their name, relationship, and contact details (email and phone).

They receive a secure, guided invitation that explains what Legacy Assured is and what their role will be. They cannot see your information while you are alive. Access is only granted after your death is confirmed, by uploading a death certificate, or through a valid power of attorney.

You can change or remove your nominated people at any time, and update their contact details as life changes.

3. Store your important accounts

You build a clear picture of your financial life by adding your important accounts and relationships. This can include:

  • Bank and savings accounts
  • Investments and pensions
  • Insurance policies
  • Utilities and key subscriptions
  • Digital services (email, social media, cloud storage)

You do not need to share passwords or logins. Legacy Assured focuses on helping you record what exists and where, so your family know which institutions and services to contact. All information is stored in a secure, encrypted vault accessible only to you and to your next of kin once your death is confirmed.

You can update your entries at any time as your circumstances change - adding new accounts, removing closed accounts, or updating contact details.

4. Plan for the future

You complete a short questionnaire about your wishes, including:

  • Who you would like to handle your estate
  • Any funeral or disposition preferences
  • Important messages or values you want to leave for your family

You can also upload documents such as:

  • Your will or trust documents
  • Lasting powers of attorney
  • Funeral plans
  • Other personal notes or letters

If you do not have a will, Legacy Assured can help you create a basic will at no cost or refer you to trusted legal and estate planning providers for more complex situations. You can revisit this section whenever your life or wishes change, so your record always reflects your current situation.
